Derek Adler Derek Adler ifina

Director

Derek Adler is domiciled in the United Kingdom and during his career in the City of London has been regulated by the Financial Services Authority and National Futures Association. Born in 1948, educated in England and Switzerland, he has been involved in the Futures markets since 1974 and has held a number of executive positions with major brokerage companies. In addition, he was previously until March 2000 a director of a publicly quoted Greek company (Athenian Capital Holdings SA) and Chairman of a joint venture company between Athenian and Dexia-BIL.

Currently and during the last decade, he has been a director and founding member of International Financial Administration Group Limited, a fully licensed fund administrator He has links both directly and indirectly with several financial institutions and acts as a consultant to a number of them.

His experience includes the establishment of Offshore Funds and the review, analysis, selection and monitoring of professional money managers. He has served on several committees including the Training and Education Committee of The Alternative Investment Management Association, Chairman of a special advisory board to FINEX, in relation to Offshore Funds, a special advisory committee at LIFFE and is a member of The Securities Institute. He is also a board member of Team BVI, a government sponsored committee.

Sherri Ortiz Sherri Ortiz International Finance Centre, BVI

Chief Operating Officer

Sherri Ortiz Chief Operating Officer Sherri Ortiz is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the BVI government’s marketing and promotion strategies conducted on behalf of the financial services industry..

Ms. Ortiz is the former Deputy Financial Secretary for the BVI Government’s Ministry of Finance, where she was responsible for public policy administration, fiscal policy management, and finance and budgetary supervision. She also supervised Treasury Department, Inland Revenue Department, Customs Department, Postal Services of the Government, and served as the Chairman of the BVI Development Bank.

Most recently Ms. Ortiz has managed the Compliance Department at Citco BVI Ltd. and worked as a financial consultant to MWM-Abacus Trust and Management Services Ltd.

Ms. Ortiz holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Management, has completed Masters studies in Business Administration, holds a Diploma of Compliance and is currently working to complete her legal studies towards an LLB.

Andrew Baker Andrew Baker AIMA

Chief Executive Officer

Andrew Baker is the Chief Executive Officer of AIMA, the trade association representing the global Hedge Fund industry, and has been in this role since January 2009.

Prior to joining AIMA he spent six years at Schroders in London where he was COO - Alternative Investments.

Previously, Andrew held senior business management positions at Gartmore and UBS Asset Management after a fifteen year spell of managing institutional assets at HD International and N. M. Rothschild. In the early 1980s he spent two years on secondment at the Bank of Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby.

Andrew has a degree in Mathematics from Imperial College, London and is married with three children.

Matthäus Jan Den Otter Matthäus Jan Den Otter SFA

Managing Director

Matthäus Den Otter, born in 1952, received a doctorate in law from the University of Zürich and also graduated from the Swiss Finance Institute. With effect from April 1, 2005, he has been appointed Managing Director of the Swiss Funds Association SFA. He is also a Member of the Board of Directors of Efama, the European Fund & Asset Management Association Efama, Brussels.

After finishing his legal training and a 2-year apprenticeship at Swiss Bank Corporation, Mr. Den Otter spent almost his entire career in the fund industry. From 1987 - 1994 as an Authorization Officer at the Swiss Federal Banking Commission. From 1994 – 1996 he was a Managing Director of the Swissca Funds Management Ltd., Bern. 1996, he returned to the Swiss Federal Banking Commission in order to become Deputy Head of the Authorizations/Investment Funds department. In this capacity he was involved in the licensing of the first Swiss Fund of Hedge Funds. He has also published numerous articles and several books, including “Investmentfonds” (published by NZZ-Verlag) and a commentary on the Investment Fund Act. Until leaving the SFBC, he was also involved in the drafting of the new Swiss Federal Act on Collective Investment Schemes (‘CISA’).

Den Otter also participated in numerous Missions organised by Multilateral Institutions providing for Technical Assistance (Kiew, Karachi, Jordan & Palestine, Beirut, Baku and Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh City).
