Do you currently run a managed account programme? If you do, I want to share a video with you. It explains why the managed account format is limited if you’re looking to scale.
Alternatively, you can read the video transcript below.
Managed accounts are fantastic way for talented traders to move into professional money management.
But if you want to manage serious levels of capital, managed accounts do have their limitations. Instead, you should look to create an investment structure.
Here are three reasons why you should do so.
First, in a managed account format, the client has ultimate control. This means they have the ability to revoke a manager’s access to their broker account at any time. In an investment fund format, clients don’t have this control.
Second, if a manager has a high number of managed accounts, executing trading strategies can be difficult. This is because a manager will typically need to place trades inside different broker accounts. In an investment fund structure, the manager can execute their strategy from one place.
Third, admin tasks and reporting can be an arduous task when a manager has multiple managed accounts. But this burden is lifted in an investment fund format, which acts as a hub for all your clients.
